Our commitment is to create secure environments where they can learn, play, and grow without fear, shielding them from harm, abuse, discrimination, and neglect. We empower them with skills to ensure self-protection and foster trust within our YMCA community.

Every child and young person in Northumberland deserves respect and recognition. We nurture their self-worth by celebrating their unique qualities, talents, and contributions. Our inclusive environment actively listens to their voices, involves them in decision-making, and encourages expression of their thoughts and opinions, fostering a deep sense of belonging and acceptance.

Our vision goes beyond safety and recognition. We’re committed to helping Northumberland’s young people thrive by providing tools, support, and opportunities for their full potential. Mission Statement
YMCA Northumberland is dedicated to providing safe spaces, listening support, and engaging development opportunities, with a particular focus on disengaged young people. We aim to be the central hub of a network, offering diverse pathways for children and young people to thrive, while using our collective voice to influence policy makers.
Our Strategy
Welcome to our 2026–2029 Strategy Plan. This plan represents the collective vision and dedication of our entire organization, crafted through the collaboration of staff and trustees alike. Guided by our core values and long-term vision, we have come together to set ambitious goals and chart a roadmap that reflects who we are, what we stand for, and the impact we aim to achieve over the coming years.
