Ian Lavery MP Becomes Parliamentary Patron for YMCA

YMCA Northumberland is delighted to welcome the news that Ian Lavery MP has accepted the role of Parliamentary Patron for YMCA, demonstrating his continued commitment to supporting young people and communities across the region and beyond.

Following a recent meeting with YMCA England & Wales representatives Jack and Caroline in Westminster, Mr Lavery shared his enthusiasm for the organisation’s work, highlighting the wide-ranging impact YMCA continues to have across the country.

Speaking about the meeting, Ian Lavery MP said:

“It was a privilege to accept the offer of Parliamentary Patron for the brilliant YMCA. Thanks to Jack and Caroline for the very enlightening meeting where we discussed the amazing wide-ranging work being carried out by the YMCA across the country. We also discussed the continuing work of the Ashington YMCA where Rob and his team are first class. I’m looking forward to continuing to work for and on behalf of young people.”

YMCA Northumberland is proud of its long-standing presence in Ashington and the positive impact it continues to make in the lives of children, young people and families. Through youth work, community projects, health and wellbeing initiatives, education, employability support and volunteering opportunities, the charity works every day to create opportunities for people to belong, contribute and thrive.
